Sneak Peek: Student-Centred Assessment Beliefs

As part of the release of Inquiry Mindset Assessment Edition, I would like to share with you some of the sketchnotes from the book. This one is titled Student-Centred Assessment Beliefs. It frames chapter one and invites readers to reflect on their assessment practice before we begin embarking on what a more student-centered assessment culture could look like throughout the rest of the Inquiry Mindset Assessment Edition.

From the book: “the sketch outlines specific values that set the stage for teachers to give students a seat at the table of assessment. It is in these values that teachers will discover the time, space, and commitment to provide more agency over the assessment realm of inquiry. It is in these values that faculties and teams of teachers will leverage collaboration to create assessment alignment, capacity, and a culture of inquiry. It is in these values that schools will begin to help raise the threshold of student achievement, fulfillment, and belonging.”
