Inquiry Myths - the Resource

Due to popular demand here is a gift for you!

This series aimed to bust some common myths I often hear in my travels supporting teachers and schools in adopting an Inquiry Mindset for their students. My hope in sharing these images was that we could begin to inform colleagues, parents and students as to what the reality of inquiry truly is.

I would like to provide you all with the resources to bring this valuable conversation back to your students, staff and parents. I often discover that when we open inquiry to discussion we create clarity, purpose and intent. These resources aim to do just that.

Consider using these to facilitate a staff or department discussion about common concerns of inquiry or where inquiry can “go wrong”. Consider sharing these with your PLN and asking them how they’ve gone about curbing these myths in their practice themselves. Consider adding myths of your own to the series that you’ve encountered in your experience.

Access the Google Slides here that also contain helpful sketchnotes from Dive into Inquiry and Inquiry Mindset as discussion prompts shedding light on how each myth is in fact busted.
